The Cielo Cross bike is drawn straight from the mud and cowbells of Portland’s legendary cyclocross scene. We’ve seen the very worst that Mother Nature and course designers can do to conspire against the will of an aspiring cyclocrosser. We’ve been soaked by enough cold rain to know just what to build into the Cielo Cross to offer an advantage in that furious lap-by-lap struggle. We use American- made True Temper OX Platinum tubesets because of their superior ride quality and outstanding history of durability. Our build team TIG-welds each frame by hand right here in Portland, Oregon. As with our Sportif road frameset, we machine our own custom fork crown, stainless steel front fork ends & rear dropouts and headtube collars. You will also find the Cielo signature engraved seatstay caps and brass headtube badge on the Cielo Cross bike.
The Cielo Cross bike is built for performance, no doubt. We love cyclocross racing and the weekly training rides that pop up each autumn in pursuit of weekend glory. But the cyclocross bike is so versatile that it is often called into greater duty than just 45-minutes worth of laps. We appreciate the cross bike for its utility and long-distance capabilities so much that we’ve given it a geometry well-suited for more riding time than just those days when you pin a number on your back. The Cielo Cross frameset is a suitable commuter bike and for those that wish to add fender eyelets, always an available Cielo option.
